The English Club is dedicated to fostering a love of literature and the arts among Citadel students. Our meetings are usually outings to cultural events. In the past few years we have attended Othello and Julius Caesar in Columbia at Finlay Park and Irma Vep at the Dock Street Theatre here in Charleston. We sponsor a yearly ice cream social and movie nights to view films associated with great literature. Most recently cadets gathered for a showing of the film, Libertine. We are alo interested in attending the Humanities Council Book Fair in Columbia, the USC Writers Festival, and the Charleston Country Library's book sale at the Galliard.
